Who are the people in your #neighbourhood & what do they want?

You’ve got #customers. You’ve got #collections.

Congratulations! You’ve technically got two great ingredients for a library (or a museum or an archive or a [insert cultural institution of your choice]).

Throw those two things together. What happens?

How will you know if you don’t collect the data? How will you know if you don’t ask the questions? How will you know if you are not part of the conversation?

What do you really, truly, deeply know about your current & potential customers? Why do they come back? Why do they not come in the first place?

What do you really know your collections? The #why of your collection, not the how, when, who, where or what you collect, is where the value lies for your customers. It’s your library’s unique selling point.

This TEDxTalk  – Simon Sinek : How great leaders inspire actions – captures the notion of “Start with Why”. How much do you know about the #why when I ask about your customers & your collections?
